In 2010 we:
- provided financial, social and practical support to over 5,300
older people in need
- carried out 1,300 detailed reviews of individuals' situations,
recommending unclaimed benefits to 1 in 5 and social care
assessment to 1 in 3.
- were a founding member of the Campaign to End
Loneliness with three other charities
- awarded over 1,800 grants, worth over £300,000, to older people
in need
- provided nearly 2,000 mobility aids and other appliances to
help daily living
- set up 17 Live Wires telephone book groups to reduce
social isolation
- launched our Big Tea fundraiser, with over 150 events held
- had the support of around 1,200 volunteers across the UK and
the Republic of Ireland.
